Does Hole In The Ear Drum With Fluid Discharge Need Immediate Surgery?
Hello, I am 26 year old and I have a hole in my ear, that I got to know 4 years back but there was no pain, so dint get it operate. Now, from some time, there is fluid coming from my ear twice or thrice in a month. I went to see a doctor yesterday, he said, there is 70% hole in my ear, which require a surgery. He can not operate the same and referred to me some different doctor. Is it serious? should I operate it right now or can I wait for 1 year or so as I am studying?? Please suggest...

hello,thanks for your query, 4yrs old perforation(hole), on & off infection due to common cold or water per ear(bathing) requires surgery.you can delay for a period of time , but not 1 year. hope i have answered your query. all the best. take care.
