Hi
I have a slow thyroid and latetly I have a very mixed and missed period. My doctor gave me Lutenyl which I took for 10 days but my period didnt come. I also have unbalanced hormose and im thinking that i have an infection as I have a smelling discharge.
Does all these symptons affect the level of hcg in a pregnany test?? Can I be pregnant or not??

Hi there,

I don't think hormonal imbalance should interfere with hcg test for pregnancy. Infact, any progesterone challenge test should ideally be preceeded by a pregnancy test.

And also hormonal changes do occur in normal pregnancy also. So any pregnancy would have interfered with this test.

So, in my opinion, you can go ahead with the test.

Hope I was able to help.
