Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am 20 and my implant was due to come out ages ago the date itwas put in was the 25th of April 2013 it s due to be changed and I ve been feeling off getting aches cramps pains dizzyess motion sickness could it be cause the implant has taken its course and it s affecting my body another thing is I also had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and Sunday last week I woke up to a bit of brownish blood on my sheets and my period should be due anyday now I don t know if it s the implant or if I may have left it too late and I could possibly be pregnant please help me as in soo worried
It is possible than the Implant may be displaced as well. I recommend : -an OBGYN consult -an ultrasound of the pelvis to check for ovarian cysts or displaced implants. -a urine test/blood test to check for pregnancy.
If you are not pregnant, other causes for your symptoms like hormonal imbalances must be ruled out. If you are pregnant, the removal of the Implant may be tricky if you plan to continue with the pregnancy, but it is necessary to be removed to prevent infections & miscarriage.
Please see your OBGYN right away. Take a home pregnancy test if you are past your period due date and see your doctor with the results. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
