Does Inducing Vomiting After Eating Cause Frequent Black Out?
Hi, I don t necessarily have an eating disorder where I barely eat anything, but I have been eating only healthy foods and lighter meals but I ve also been making myself throw up everyday and sometimes multiple times a day. I think its been a few weeks or a month or so I m not sure. But lately when I stand up I get that blackout for a few seconds and I was wondering if it has to do with the way I m eating and my induced vomiting? Its not just if I stand up too fast and it is happening more than usual.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
Making yourself throw up multiple times a day is not normal and is indeed idicative of an eating disorder. Regarding the blackouts, it is quite possible that these could be related to the vomiting episodes.
Vomiting multiple times can cause dehydration, salt / electrolyte imbalance, lowered blood pressure, etc. which can result in blackouts. In my opinion, this appears to be very concerning. So, please visit a doctor for a detailed evaluation and further treatment.
Wish you all the best.
