Does Inhaling Bleach Cause Dizziness, Elevated BP And Shortness Of Breath?

Hi I clean houses for a living and I was cleaning bathroom with bleach and soft scrub and scrubbing bubbles after I finished became very dizzy and short of breath I am also diabetic and have high blood pressure..when I got home my blood pressure was 139 Ove 84 ..do you think it was the cleaners ? I did open a window y cleaning ?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if inhaling bleach cause dizziness, elevated BP and shortness of breath . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like COPD symptoms , acute bronchitis , acid reflux , asthmatic condition , sleeping apnea or upper respiratory infection.


The symptoms can also occur due to bleach inhalation because of its ingredients .For now eat light at night , take benadryl twice a day and keep your head elevated while lying down. Avoid intake of outside food. Avoid cold, carbonated beverages.

I would suggest you to consult allergy specialist for asthma for proper examination. Doctor may order chest x-ray, blood test and check vitals along with vitals. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for upper respiratory tract infection or cardiologist for elevated BP.
