Does Intake Of Alprazolam For Austio Arthritis Lead To Fatigue And Voice Loss?
Dear Doctor. I am a 73 year old retired Grandfather, happily married to the same woman for 52 years. 5 9 tall, 165 lbs. I was a custom home builder for 45 years and found a lot of satisfaction doing my work. It gave me a lot of purpose in life. It seems as though retirement is hard for me. My problem is, quite often I feel extremely fatigued and I lose my voice. I have been diagnosed with quite severe austio-arthritis in my neck and have trouble getting a really good sleep at night. For about 2 years I have been taking one 0.5mg Alprazolam tablet at bedtime. Could this medication be the cause of my fatigue and voice loss?
Dear patient Alprazolam is anxiety reducing drug and leads to sleep at night. It doesn't affect voice. Fatigue may be due to inadequate sleep or pain due to osteoarthritis. Also alprazolam is habit forming and long term use is not advised.so you should be investigated For neck osteoarthritis with Xray of cervical spine anteroposterior and lateral views to confirm diagnosis. You need to consult expert spine surgeon with report. All the best.
