General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Amitriptyline is an antidepressant that may be used to assist with sleep as well. Generally, antidepressants may affect the menstrual cycle but mostly causing irregular bleeding or short periods.
It is unlikely your menstruation was induced by amitriptyline. Very likely this is a coincidence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
