Does Intake Of Artotec And Antihemorrhagic Sodium Bisulfite Help In Abortion?

Hi ! I am 9 weeks pregnant and not ready yet to have a baby since my son is only 2 yrs old. My hubby and I decided to do an abortion using artotec. I was given 6 tablets and 2 bisulfite antihemorrhagic. I was told to insert 4 tablets vaginally and swallow 2 remaining tablets. Would that be successful? What would be the most effective way to use 6 tablets?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Abortion can be induced by using pills when pregnancy is under 10 weeks. Artotec is composed of a combination of Diclofenac and misoprostol. Misoprostol is known to induce abortion.

However, the procedure needs to be done strictly under medical supervision and following the procedure, follow-up needs to be done appropriately.

Kindly consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation, the proper dose of medications and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
