Does Intake Of Avonex Cause Increased BP?

I am an RN and have mild ms and have been on a Avonex since April. I have been having some increase in BP. The only other time I have had BP issues was from taking Aleve which can contribute to fluid retention. My neurologist said that since I am 46 I am probably developing hypertension. I am not overweight. I do not smoke and I workout 5 days a week. I am quite sure this sudden increase in BP is related to the new med possibly fluid retention. What are your thoughts. I do not want to take BP meds but finally have an MS med I can tolerate.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern.
Discussion:- As such you have not mentioned the reading of your BP so in my opinion this may not be pure form of hypertension and ideally Blood pressure need to be red by physician.
Medication:-NA
Advise:- If you do not have any associated symptoms then no need to worry about this.
Comments:- It is better to get done the total physical examination by physician, if you are going to read the blood pressure on your own then it may cause the error to far extend.
