Does Intake Of Bactrim Cause Hallucinations?

Does bactrimDS cause hallucinations? My husband has just had two doses of a 14 day prescription. Today he had a shot and one pill. This is his third UTI this year. He is recovering from West Nile Virus for the last 16 months and has had a catheter all that time.

dear friend

bactrim ds or SULFAMETHOXAZOLE/TRIMETHOPRIM is a combination of two antibiotics which are used for treatment of many infection including UTI.

generally hallucinations are not a side effect of sulfa drugs but a rather uncommon side effect but it does happen nonetheless in rare occasions,
there are many other alternative antibiotics available for catheter induced UTI you may like to discuss the problem with your treating uro/nephrologist
