Does Intake Of Cytotec Pills During Early Pregnancy Cause Birth Defects In A Child?
Hi, i am about 16 weeks pregnant. I took 4 cytotec pilintals under the tongue wen i was about 10-12 weeks pregnant. After 2 hours that i took them i had diahrrea and then some bleeding with blood cloths the bleeding stopped after a few hours. I already had a blood test and an ultrasound. What are the possibilities my baby will have a birth defect?
Cytotec, a Misoprostol should not be taken by women who are pregnant. If taken in the first trimester it is very risky & causes uterine bleeding, miscarriage, incomplete miscarriage. If pregnancy survives it can result in premature birth or may cause birth defects (facial malformations, skull defects, cranial nerve palsies). It is potentially harmful for the fetus. Get connected to your gynecology & get clinically assessed. Get blood & USG done to confirm fetal well being at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
