Does Intake Of Effexor For Anxiety And Depression Lead To Memory Loss?
I suffer with high anxiety and depression. I am currently on effexor xr. I was on 150 mg in morning and still suffering symptoms. I m also afraid of all the things I m reading about long erm side effects like memory loss and how hard it is to get off of it in the future. What SSRI would you say is the best and safest out there with the least short and long term effects?

Effexor XR contains venlafaxine that belongs to the group antidepressant medications known as serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors or SNRIs is used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, social phobia etc. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. It may cause severe memory loss. It can also cause difficulty in concentration, confusion and lead to dementia.
Again, among the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs, escitalopram, sertraline, fluoxetine etc., are better tolerated with least side effects. But, if you experience any side effect during taking antidepressant medications, you should consult your doctor first and your doctor will choose the best medication for you.
