Does Intake Of Flucloxacillin Help In Treating Bacterial Vaginosis?
Can flucloxacillin be used to treat bacterial vaginitis/vaginosis? I was prescribed it (the liquid form) to get rid of a skin infection but my symptoms of what I thought was BV have disappeared (by that I mean no watery discharge and now my vagina is mostly scentless) so has it cured it? However in its place I believe I have thrush which I know can be a side effect of antibiotics although my vagina and the discharge are scentless I m now itchy down there and discharge is white and clumpy.
White and clumpy vaginal discharge after antibiotics can be due to a yeast infection. In this case, a combination of clotrimazole cream applied in the genital area, and clotrimazole vaginal tablets can be used. An alternative would be to use Fluconazole oral tablet.
If you notice no improvement in 3-4 days or you notice any worsening you will need to talk with your doctor and have a gynecological exam
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
