Does Intake Of Hydroxy Sx7 Cause False Positive Results For Pregnancy?
Hi,I had my last period on the 12th of July . I had unprotected intercourse on the 1st of August , I took the morning after pill on the 2nd and I tested positive today . I have had a long haul flight and I have started taking hydroxy sx7 could this affect my test ?
It may cause a false positive pregnancy. Emergency contraceptive pills are up to 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy if taken within 72 hours following an unprotected sex. The sooner it is taken the more effective it would be.
Diet pills like hydroxy sx7 do contain some amount of human chorionic gonadotropin hormone which is responsible for a positive pregnancy test. You might need a blood test or ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician and Fetal Medicine
