Does Intake Of Methadone Help In Treating Drug Abuse?

My son is on a methodone treatment for heiron. I believe the dose he is taking is 80. He is also an alcoholic and has taken all kinds of other drugs. He has also been diagnosed with hep c. He is currently living with me while he is in this treatment. I know he is still drinking and I suspect he is taking other kinds of drugs. He has to test every week or so. He has lost around 20 pounds in the last month. I don t think he is doing the heiron. My question is will the methodone make him high? He always seems that way or totally asleep and would it make him lose weight that rapidily? Thank you
