Does Intake Of Norethisterone With Changed Dosage Affect Its Effectiveness?
Hi doctors I am going on a holiday and it involves lots of water activities. Thus, I decided to consult my doctor and was prescribed Norethisterone 2x a day. I was told to take 3 days before my menses starts and to complete the course for 10days. Can I take the pills for 6 days instead of completing the course of 10 days? Will there be any complications? Please advise. Thank you.
It would depend on the length of time that you want your period to hold off. When the tablets are discontinued, bleeding will start within a few days.If this is okay with you then you can use the medications for 6 days but if you want to delay the period for a longer period of time, then you need to use the longer course.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
