Does Intake Of Nystatin Help In Treating Folliculitis?
I have been told by a doctor that I have folliculitis and am currently taking doxycycline for it twice a day I m on day 4 of 10. Is it ok to use some nystatin for the itching or would that be bad. From what I m reading nystatin is more for fungal not bacteria

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Nystatin is an anti fungal drugs. Folliculitis is due to bacterial infection. Doxycycline is helpful for this. Nystatin is not helpful in case of folliculitis. If there is fungal infection then you can use it. For folliculitis you can use brilliant green or povidone iodine for local application along with oral doxycycline.
