Does Intake Of Obimet Help In Treating High Blood Pressure?

I am 67yrs old man. I have not been taking any medicine except Amlodac-AT for high BP(130/80-28thAug) for last 15yrs.No other medicine for long long times. No sugar upto 2014.Only in last 15/18 months, Sugar (F) is between 110 to 126.Sugar(PP) is 120 t0 130 as being tested in renowned Pharmacy, Kolkata, last being (F)126/127(PP). But whenever house-physician is testing at his residence in his equipment, Fasting is found between 121-138 and PP ranging from 117-185 in last five occasions since Feb,15. Last being (F)138/143(PP) on 28th Aug. He has finally prescribed OBIMET SR 500gms(one per day). I am otherwise physically n mentally fit, though I have back-pain for which I do exercise n brisk walking at dawn. No sugar by Heredity. Shall I start taking above OBIMET !! Will you pl suggest !! High blood pressure and diabetes (high blood sugar) are commonly associated with each other.

It would be best to start taking the medication. It used in diabetics and also in persons who are prediabetic meaning that their blood sugars are rising, no longer normal but haven't reach the diabetic level yet.
