Does Intake Of Omeprazole Cause Pain In Muscle And Bone With Cramps?
I have been on Omeprazole for several years. New warnings are now coming with the prescription. I wonder if I should ask my doctor to get something over-the-counter instead. I get muscle and bone pain at night, sometimes cramps...wonder if this is caused, at least partly, by Omeprazole....or Crestor/
The muscle aches and pain are more likely related to the crestor. This medication and the others in its family are known to cause this problem.
In some cases it is mild and no intervention is needed. In others, the medication may need to be adjusted. The dose can be lowered or it can be stopped for a while and restarted or another medication can be used instead to see if the response varies.
If you are uncomfortable with the omeprazole then this should be discussed with your doctor. Warnings are there to let persons know what might occur but some persons use medications with no complications, it is individual.
I hope this helps
