Does Intake Of Ovral L Prevent Conceiving?

Hello doctor, we are trying for pregnancy since last 4 years but could not succeed. When we met doctor, she has suggested me to have some medical tests along with taking Ovral-L tablet for 20 days to supress the pregnancy so that she can start IUI or IVF depending the test results of mine & my husband. Is it necessary to take Ovral-L? bcaz i m bit confused whether it will stop getting pregnancy?

Hello,

Ideally Ovral-L is not recommended to be taken when you are pregnant, planning for a baby or breastfeeding. Many doctors believe that a patient is most fertile after stopping to take the BC pills, so they may prescribe. It is up to you to either take it or not. It is difficult to conceive when you are high in stress or anxiety, stay away from tensions. Stay comfortable while you are going through the treatment.

Both the spouses should ideally get all the tests done. If the reports show some undesirable results, IVF or IUI can be done. Go through ABORh, VDRL, Urinalysis, PP (Blood sugar), HSF (Semen analysis). Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. Medications & D&C are also helpful.
