Does Intake Of Postinor 2 Cause Brown And Red Vaginal Discharge?
Hi I took postinor-2 on 30th and a week later, I started to have brown discharge and lasted for 6 days and then today I start to experience a red discharge from the brown I had. But the amount is still lesser than normal period. Is this because of the postinor-2?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
The first time you had brown discharge for 6 days, should be your period. Light red bleeding or vaginal discharge you had must be breakthrough bleeding due to intake of a emergency contraceptive pill such as postinor 2. The bleeding is different than your period, It is lighter in colour & quantity and last for less time period, as compared to a normal menstrual period. This type of bleeding occur normally with in 3 weeks of the pill intake. This is normal feature of pill & there is nothing to be worried about. You could also have your next period delayed.
Use condom or regular contraceptive pill as method of conception in future. Taking more emergency contraceptive pills can cause problems like irregular periods, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility.
If problem persists consult a gynaecologist Hope this information helps
