Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
Yes, taken as per the schedule Primolut-N can postpone the periods.
Following side effects can occur with the use of Primolut-N:
Acne, fluid retention, weight gain, breast discomfort,
depression,
irregular periods, and abnormal facial hair growth.
One tablet taken 3 times a day beginning 3 days before the expected period is due to begin. It is to be taken every day in the same dosage at the same time until it is convenient to delay your periods.
Once you stop taking this medication, you will have withdrawal bleeding within a week at the most.
Regarding my advice:
Since you are unmarried and
1. If you wish to postpone simply to enjoy your holidays without worrying about blood loss then fine, however
2. If you wish to take this medication in order to facilitate any sexual liaison on holidays I would have to advise you that there are legal implications so, to try to speak to your parents about these issues
3. Do not take this medication without consulting a gynecologist.
Hope this answers your query.
