Does Intake Of Trazodone Cause Impaired Balance And Thoughts?

I take 200 mg of Trazodone before bed, as prescribed by the V.A. I have been noticing a loss of balance and the frequent mental disconnect that happens in rapids episodes, almost like a micro-seizure. I have a headache that is persistent. I feel like I am going to pass out. I am diabetic, type 2, as well. I am afraid to drive. I should have known it would cost. I am retired and disabled. Thanks for the advice. Have a blessed night.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

All these seem to be due to trazodone as these are among the side effects of trazodone. It may be stopped and psychiatrist review may be helpful. Drugs like quitiapine or benzodiazepine may be used as alternative.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
