Does Intake Of Alcohol Cause Miscarriage?

My daughter had one drink at dinner 6/12, started a period 4 days later that is still going on. Looks like it is a miscarriage. Would the one drink have caused it? She did not know she was pregnant & didn t think one drink is enough to cause an issue. Her husbands drinks some, maybe a 6 - 12 pack a week. This is her 3rd miscarriage. She is seeing her Dr today.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The miscarriages could be to some other cause since alcohol can lead to growth restriction of the developing baby, however, miscarriage is not a common complication of alcohol. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations especially APLA profile.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
