Does Intake Of Amoxicillin Cause Frequent Urination?
My dad is taking Amoxicillin and is having to urinate 4 - 5 times a night, which is a new thing for him...... we are not happy with this medication and believe the side effects are not good for him....he is otherwise healthy at age 93.....we want to ask the dr. to discontinue this antibiotic....or, what do you think????
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic. I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Amoxicillin is a relatively safe drug and side effects are minimal. Amoxicillin does not cause increase urination. It could be due to some other causes. Check his blood sugar level to rule out diabetes, which can cause increase frequency of urination. Consult a urologist to rule out enlarged prostate which is quite common among elderly. Thanks Dr Shinas Hussain
