Does Intake Of Beta Blockers Impair The Ability For Weight Training?
I was prescribed beta blocker for anxiety (already on luvox for over 10 years and serpax as needed), but I do 5 days a week of weight training to help with my anxiety, which works very well. I am worried that beta blockers will impair my ability to exercise, especially weight training, and become counter productive to my overall health plan re anxiety. Is this correct or anxious thinking?
Beta blockers may reduce your heart rate and may affect your ability to lose weight if this is your aim but if you are doing the exercise solely to help with anxiety, then it should not affect this aspect.
They would reduce some of the symptoms associated with anxiety such as tremors, palpitations, change in blood pressure, chest tightness.
I hope this helps
