Does Intake Of Birth Control Pill Cause Delayed Periods?
Good night, About a week ago I had unprotected sex so my boyfriend came inside me a day after my ovulation. However I took the morning after pill the following day. I took one 8:05pm and the other 7:55am,I didn t remember the second pill until 10pm. Will the pill work? I was expecting my period at a certain time, but I m only feeling cramps. I have a swimming session to attend. So I took three birth control at once. Will it stop my period or will it affect my baby if I should get pregnant. Because the morning after I took is 85%
Taking incomplete medications of morning-after pill would increase the risk of getting pregnant.
After taking such pills, you should get withdrawal bleeding just like your periods within 5 to 7 days after the intake of the pill.
In case you do not get bleeding even after 10 days, you need to take urine pregnancy test and trans-vaginal ultrasound scan to know what could be the cause and to ensure that you are not pregnant.
If you take birth control pills without confirming pregnancy, and incase you happen to be pregnant, it would have adverse effect on the developing foetus. It can either affect by increasing the risk of birth defects or cause pregnancy related complications.
Kindly consult Obstetrician promptly for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
