Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the condition you have been treated for, the medication you are taking namely 'venlafaxine' could result in decreased sexual performance.
Venlafaxine is an antidepressant medication, which belongs to a group of drugs called 'selective serotonin and
norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors' (SSNRIs).
Commonly reported side effects with use of venlafaxine include: anorgasmia,
constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, nausea,
nervousness, weakness, headache, anorexia, decreased appetite, delayed ejaculation, increased sweating and dry mouth.
However, you can overcome
erectile dysfunction by doing the following:
1. Practice 'stop and squeeze' technique regularly.
2. Perform
pelvic floor strengthening exercises.
3. Include in your diet almonds, dates, milk, saffron, papaya, green leafy vegetables and pulses, which would help to provide adequate blood supply to the penis to sustain erection.
4. Take Tablet.Tadalafil half an hour before intercourse, only when necessary.
5. Practice meditation regularly, which will help you to overcome anxiety and improve your confidence gradually.
Continue with other medications as advised and do the necessary follow-up as suggested.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
