Does Irregular Intake Of Birth Control Pills Cause Early Periods?
Hello! A couple of days ago, I forgot to take my birth control pill. I usually take them at night before I go to bed. I remembered the next afternoon and took it then. However, that night, I began getting cramps and started my period. Which, I'm not supposed to start until next week. Should I be concerned??
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes irregular intake of birth control pills can cause early periods. Missing your birth control pill or delaying the pill could cause hormone levels to falls & cause withdrawal bleeding similar to menstrual period. There is nothing much to be concerned about, you are not pergnant. You should start a new pack & taking the pills from 1st day of menstrual bleeding ( you could also start from 2nd to 5th day but then use condoms for 1st week) & take 21 hormone pills regularly once a day at same time. Then you should take the 7 day gap or take inactive pills in that time. Your periods would become regular.
