Does Irregular Proliferative Disordered Endometrium Call For Hysterectomy?
I was diagnosed with an irregular proliferative diordered endometrium, does this call for a hysrerectomy?. I am 54 years old, taking tamoxifen for the last year and a half as I had breast cancer in 2014. Had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I began with menopause when taking the tamoxifen. Had been diagnosed with endometriosis in 1998. I had an ectopyc pregnancy, a fallopian tube removed and then had three children.
Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia is a side effect of tamoxifen usage. Tamoxifen is used for 5 years in post breast cancer surgery. Endometrial proliferation is a reason to change tamoxifen to letrozole. You can consult your oncologist about it. No hysterectomy advisable yet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
