Does Irregular Usage Of Birth Control Pills Increase The Pregnancy Chances?

I have been taking birthcontrols for almost half a year now, And last week I lost my pill packet and started a new one to replace the missing pills. I took 2 pills in the new one but I wasn’t sure all the way of what week i was on. I found my lost pill pack today and realized I took the wrong pills. For instance I was suppose to take a pill from Week 3, but instead I took a pill from Week 2. But the day was correct. What Can I do? Am I in high risk of pregnancy?

Hello,

If you have not missed a single dose of the pill, and taken the hormone pills and not the placebo ones which you are supposed to take from 21 to 28 days, then you are not at risk of pregnancy. Even if you have taken pills from a different week it doesn't matter if it is the hormonal pill. If still, you are having doubts then you should start using an additional method of contraception like barrier method till you start your next cycle. If by any chance you miss your periods then get a urine pregnancy test done to rule out pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
