Does Lifting Too Much Weight Compromise Previously Done Nerve Transposition?

I was doing curls on a weight machine about 2 weeks ago and both my trainer and myself heard this "cracking "sound. I had an ulnar nerve transposition in 1999, and the pain is the same now as it was then, before the surgery. Did I compromise the transposition by lifting too much weight? I am 65 and in great health.
