Hello, I have been taking losec 20mg per day for 18 years and stopped 4 months ago without incident. I was on it initially because of persistant nausea after the birth of my daughter. My doctor kept prescribing it and I kept taking it. I ve suffered from increasingly high blood pressure which started around the same time and have no risk factors. I recently started seeing a Naturopath for the blood pressure and she was shocked about the losec and asked if I could stop as it blocks the absorption of Magnesium which she felt could be a contributing factor in the hypertension. Could you please tell me if there is scientific evidence that losec causes high blood pressure and is it reversible? My numbers are typically 180/112 on medication. I m 5 6 , weigh 120lbs., don t drink (not even coffee) and have never smoked. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so much, ~~Carolyn
