Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am worried as recently whilst bored in the car my three year old turned the car radio knob onto maxium and then pushed it on. Her Dad managed to turn it off within a couple of seconds but would this blast of brief noise done irreparable damage to the fine hairs of the inner ear?
the noise around you is so loud that you have to shout to be heard, there is a chance that the mechanism inside your ear can be injured. Temporary hearing loss can happen after you've been exposed to loud noise for any duration. If you have temporary hearing loss, you won't be able to hear as well as you normally do for a while. Don't worry, it will go away (usually after a good night's sleep). But it means that the next time you're around loud noise, you should wear protection to avoid permanent hearing loss.
hope I answered your questions in a simple way. if u have any further questions I will be here to help you.
thank you
take care.
