Does Low Creatinine Level In A Diabetic Indicate Kidney Damage?
I am 70 year young man. I have type2 diabetes for last 15 years at least. I take Metformin 2+2 tabs to control my diabetes. My A1C result is 0.070. My blood creatinine is normal. My random urine test for microalbumin and creatinine is as follows: Microalbumin ..........Less than 5MG/L Normal Value is below 15 Creatinine..............1.5 MMOL/L Norma Value is 5-----13 Does the low value of creatinine indicates any kidney demage. Is my diabetes under control or not.
Dear sir i can understand your concern in my opinion all your blood test reports are normal. I am very happy to see that your diabetes is well under control. its normal to have a low creatinine levels,This is called stage of hyperfiltration. There will not be any kidney damage in this stage.its a normal happening in progression of diabetes type 2. considering your age as a factor its quite normal nothing to worry about that. Hope I was able to help you. If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help. Take care. Best Regards. Dr Vamsi Krishna Consultant Diabetologist Apollo Hospitals
