Does Lowering The Dosage Of Levoxyl Cause Weightgain And Change In Health?
My body temp. is usually 96 to 97 degrees. It's been like that my whole life. I take thyroid replacement (levoxyl) .175 and I was that if you have a low body temp. you need more replacement than what the normal range blood tests say. Right now, (for 6 months) I've been in the high side of the normal range and I feel better than I have in years but when I go to the Dr. tomorrow, she will want to drop the dosage and I will gain weight again and won't feel as good as I do now. Any thoughts?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have hypothyroidism and you are taking thyroxine. Weight gain and cold intolerance is common in hypothyroidism. But the dosages of thyroxine replacement depends on your T3, T4 & TSH level. So go for thyroid function test and take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
