Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having a colonoscopy next week. I have had 1 before and cannot drink the go lightly. Someone recommended magnesium citrate but it does not give directions on the bottle on how to take it for that purpose. Please give me instructions for that and does it work well enough for that procedure? Thank you
Hi, Magnesium citrate may not work. It is magnesium sulphate or milk of magnesia which is used to induce purgation. But that may not always mechanically clear the bowel . Instead polyethylene glycol will be the best. It is available in a sachet with all the relevant instructions. Regards
