Does Masturbation Adversely Affect Conception?

Hi I am 34 yr old man, I have been masturbating since the age of 13 or 14, in that age I use to masturbate 6 to 7 times a day or some times 1 to 2 timestimes a day, after some years I started once in a day and after some yrs I started 1 time in 2 days and 10years ago I am doing it two times in week and from last 5years doing it once in a week, now I got married few months ago, planning to have a child, so want to know whether my sperm or semen count is effected or will I face a problem to get my wife pregnant.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Masturbation is very natural and it is not going to affect your sperm counts or quality in any way. So I don't see any problem for your wife to be pregnant. So don't worry, everything is alright.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
