Does Medication Taken For Typhoid Cause Any Liver Damage?
I am suffering from fever from last one month......initially it was high upto 103F and gradually i come to know after test report ......that it s typhoid..... after taking medicine as directed by my doctor ......now my body temperature is normal from laat one week...then also am taking medicine ...does it create any problem to my liver.. bcz..my sgpt is 179.......is it serious .....please suggest....
For typhoid antibiotic usually given up to 10-14 days. It's not advisable to still continue medicines without doctor advise. An extended course of antibiotic given only when bacilli persist in the stool.
So don't take medicine without doctor's advise. Your SGPT is high that also should be evaluated further with ultrasonography abdomen and viral profile study.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
