Does Multinodular Goiter Cause Hair Loss And Brain Fatigue?

I have been diagnosed with Multi Nodule goiter. I am having my second ultrasound tomorrow. My mother also had a goiter (in 1955). What is next. By the way, I have been loosing my hair and my brain feels foggy . Are these symptoms of thyroid problems that need treatment?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hair loss and confusion or disordered thinking can be associated with thyroid disease in some persons, most commonly low levels of thyroid hormone though it can also occur in high levels as well.

You would need thyroid function blood tests to check the hormone levels. You may also want to consider a complete blood count because anemia (low hemoglobin levels) , can also cause these symptoms.

There are different causes and types of anemia and specific treatment would depend on the findings.

I hope this helps
