Does Muscle Stress Cause Fever And Chills?

Hello we returned from a strenuous camping trip and I did much driving on the return trip. Last night I had shaking chills. Today I m very stiff and sore and have a fever of 37.7/37.8. I slept most of the day. Is the fever related to the muscle stress?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Strenuous camping is associated with intense physical activity. You were exposed to muscle stress leading to slightly high fever.

Viral infection is often happening when changing climate and places. This also explains your slightly high fever.

Take paracetamol or ibuprofen. Drink plenty of water.
If no improvement, consult with your physician.
All the best.
