Does My Daughter S Stomach Ache And Vomiting Need Medical Attention?

My 4.5 yr old daughter had a cold recently, then she had a stomach ache, threw up 2 times the other day and stopped throwing up after that. This morning she woke up complaining about her legs hurting her and that she was very hungry. Then she fell back asleep even after she was out of bed. Through all of this she has not had a fever at all. Any ideas if this is something to be concerned about?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

It looks like your daughter is having a viral illness.

You need to concern if she has

1. decreased oral intake
2. decreased activity
3. altered consciousness
4. decreased oral intake
5. any blood-tinged stools or bloodstained vomiting.

Till then keep her well hydrated. If any of the above-mentioned symptoms are there, then I would suggest you consult a paediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirubhan Bharathy, Pediatrician
