Does My Report Of Triglycerides 144 And LDL 168 Indicate Cardiac Risk?
Hello, i just had my Glucose(fasting)FBS and LIPID profile tested. Following are the result Glucose (fasting) 109 Creatinine .97S.Cholesterol 232S. Triglycerides 144 HDL 3 5LDL 168. Please tell me , am i going to have a heart attack? I m 32 years with weight around 58-60Kg and 5.4feet height.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The following things can be inferred based on the laboratory reports you have shared. 1. Fasting glucose of 109 mg/dl is fairly within normal acceptable range. 2. Creatinine with 0.9 mg/dl is within normal limits. 3. Lipid profile is showing Total Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol levels at a much higher range than normal. It certainly is a risk for cardiovascular disease. Considering your age, you can bring it down to normal levels and control it by means of diet and regular exercise. Kindly follow it up with lipid profile test done after 6 months. In case it is persistently high, you would require medications to bring it down and keep levels under control. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
