Does Negative IBD Panel Results Rule Out Crohn S Disease?

Does a negative IBD panel always rule out Crohn s? Colonoscopy showed congested, erythematous, hemorrhagic, inflamed, and ulceration in the terminal ileum. Upper GI and small bowel follow through showed a small section of narrowing at the end of the small bowels. Curious as to whether they use imaging and the scope, along with biopsy showing ileitis to diagnosis or say no IBD based off of a negative IBD panel?

to confirm inflammatory bowel disease you need to have a biopsy of the affected bowel ( endoscopic )
IBD panel can point towards ibd or rule out IBD but does not confirm the diagnosis
biopsy is confirmatory

if any queries feel free to get in touch
