Does Novelon Tablet Caused Pain In Breasts?

My age is 33 years.Weight about 50 kgs.Height about 5''2'. I was suffering long periods (about 10 days) then doctor suggested me to take Novelon tablet for 3 cycles. Now i finished the course but during taking Novelon , I suffered low pain in both breasts as well as left hand sometimes or often.My query is that it is side effect of this medicine or otherwise...I am iron deficient lady having two baby.Kindly respond me about my query ...

I understand your concern.
Novelon tablet contains Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol as active ingredients.
It is used for Painful menstruation, Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, Oral contraception, Failure of ovarian development and Recurrent miscarriage.
Side effects which can be encountered with its use include:
1. Emotional instability
2. Acne
3. Nausea
4. Amenorrhea
5. Weight gain
6. Breast tenderness or discomfort
However, these symptoms would subside in about 2 to 3 weeks once the intake of medications are stopped.
Kindly consult your doctor for further evaluation and management if the symptoms does not subside.
