Does Oxygen Level Of 75% Remain For Life Time For Copd Patient?

Dear Sir, my mother is a copd patient, where right now her CO2 level is 51%, doctor adviceing to take bipap maching rental for a week. and her O2 level is 75%. does this condition will remain same for her life time or she will be get improve day by day. please suggest .....

Thanks for your query.
Generally COPD patients have a higher CO2 level which can be effectively removed by using BIPAP which your doctor has rightly prescribed. O2 saturation level is to be maintained around 90 (plus minus)2 % and if it is below 88% then your mom should receive long term oxygen therapy (O2 inhalation @2-3 lit per minute through nasal cannula for at least 15 hours a day) to maintain SpO2 around 90%. With these two measures the above said condition will be improved.
