Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Started taking Lyrica about a week ago. I have diabetes, Neuropathy, and COPD. My COPD has become worse and Oxygen stats are about 85. I do not have oxygen therapy at this time. How can I bring my oxygen stats up? And should I stop taking the Lyrica. How low could my oxygen stats go down before I am in danger.
Oxygen saturation need to be over 92 at least in COPD. Generally, it worsens with exacerbation which may be viral or bacterial and is common in cold. Generally in such cases we recommend people to visit their doctor for proper assessments and management.
This may not be related to Lyrica. Mostly, it is caused by virus or bacteria and for that you need to be assessed and treatment optimizer which may include nebulization antibiotic and also steroids for few days. So better to talk to your doctor for proper management.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
