Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have been experiencing pain in my left armpit and some burning. Had a mammogram done today. I an very worried because I am now 61. My mother had cysts removed , when she was in her 50 s and both of my aunts on my dads side have had fibrocystic disease. Could I have that are causing my pain at my age, or is it always Cancer?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, pain of arm pit and history of malignancy of your mother are not the prime indication of cancer of breast in your case, but of course it can only be ruled with the helps of test as you did it, the symptoms of pain and family history does not prove any thing as long as the malignancy is concern so need to worry about this, hope this information helps, take care.
