Does Pain In Hip, Leg And Lower Back Indicate Bursitis?
I am 62 and am having pain in left hip and lower back which radiates down leg and pains knee and when I lay down makes my front muscle next to chin bone hurt.My mother had bursitis in her hip and I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in my neck. Do u think its bursitis?
Reassurance:- No, it doesn't look like bursitis. And getting bursitis never means it will be transmitted to children too. There are a lot more factors for bursitis to affect someone.
Evidence:- You already have Degenerative disease in neck vertebrae. It means process of degenration may also have started in lumbosacral region.
Explanation:- The diseases of the vertebral column in the lumbosacral region causes the spinal nerves to pinch and pain is felt in lower back that radiates and is felt in the area of its supply too.
Investigations:- MRI lumbosacral region.
Management:- Apply Bengay ultra stretch gel on affected area and massage. Apply heat afterwards. Take Tylenol for pain.
