Does Pain On Left Side Of Stomach Indicate Appendicitis?

my Mother is having some pretty constant pain on her left , front side which only began in the last hour or so. She has other health issues and is almost 83. She s concerned about appendicitis. It began after she had her dinner, she s in n assisted living place. How long should we let this kind of pain persist if it doesn t get better, or maybe worse, in case it s her appendix? She s never had any other organ issues, but treated for high blood pressure, 4 heart stints, anxiety issues, and now some short term memory problems. Thank you!

Hi welcome to HCM...

Noted your mother having left side abdominal pain...

Here possibilities of appendicitis are very less....
As in appendicitis pain is at right side lower abdomen with vomitting and fever....

Here chance of gastritis or if pain at lower site then colitis is present....
Antibiotic can be taken for five days...
Omeprazole can be given for few fays...
Fruits taken more...
Green leafy veg more ...

Pain can also occurred by constipation...
So for that laxative or fiber supplement given with more water....
Advise her for daily some activity to avoid sedentety life style...

If still no cause found then USG done for further work up....
